Target 2023 to free edu institutions of tobacco
In a joint effort by the Central and state governments, it has been decided to make the 54,000 schools and colleges in Chhattisgarh tobacco free.
The Tobacco Free Educational Institutions (TOFEI) will be implemented by 2023 on the basis of 11 point guidelines issued at the national level.
Chhattisgarh State Nodal Officer (Tobacco Control) Dr Kamlesh Jain said ton Sunday that the country has a youth population of 35 percent. In the 15-39 age group, 30 percent use tobacco.
The percentage in Chhattisgarh using tobacco and its products is 39 percent. In the 13-15 age category, 8 percent of the children use tobacco and its products.
Joint Training Exercise of India and Kazakhstan
The 5th version of the Indo- Kazakhstan Joint Training Exercise, KAZIND-21 will be held from 30th August to 11th September 2021, at Training Node, Aisha Bibi, Kazakhstan.
The joint coaching exercise will raise the bilateral members of the family between India and Kazakhstan Armies. The Exercise is additionally a platform for the Armed Forces of India & Kazakhstan to educate for Counter Insurgency or Counter-Terrorism operations in the mountainous, rural eventualities below UN mandate.
National Sports Day – 29th August
Every year, twenty ninth August is observed as National Sports Day in India. The first National Sports Day used to be celebrated on August 29, 2012, on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand. E-Shram Portal by Labour Minister
The Ministry of Labour & Employment has launched e-Shram Portal to hyperlink Unorganised Workers with social security schemes being carried out by the Central & State Governments.
Minister for Labour and Employment, Bhupender Yadav has launched the portal where 38 crore Unorganised Workers can register themselves and in turn benefit from various social security schemes.
Every unorganised employee who registers on the eSHRAM Portal will get Rs two Lakh Accidental Insurance cover. (Rs two Lakh on dying or permanent incapacity and Rs 1.0 lakh on partial disability).
Upon registration on the eSHRAM Portal, the employee will get an eSHRAM card with a special 12 digit Universal Account Number (UAN) and will be able to get admission to the benefits of a variety of social security schemes via this Card somewhere anytime.
eSHRAM Portal will help in the introduction of a National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW).
SVEEP Workshop by ECI
The Election Commission of India (ECI) geared up the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) Consultation Workshop.
The SVEEP program is the flagship application of the Election Commission of India for voter education & awareness.
The new voters would ship a personalised letter from the Commission when sending out their Voter ID Cards.
