CHHATTISGARH 38 items filed in c’garh with investment worth rs 2,483 cr in 2017   A total of 38 Industrial Entrepreneurs Memorandum (IEM) were filed in Chhattisgarh with total investment of Rs 2,483 crore as on December 31, 2017.   This was compared to 50 IEMs filed with proposed investment of Rs 11,853 crores during 2016-17, as per the annual report 2017-18 of the Department of Industrial Promotion and Policy (DIPP).   A total of five Industrial Entrepreneurship Memorandum (IEM) (Part B) form were filed by the entrepreneurs for setting up projects and commencement of production in Chhattisgarh involving proposed  ... Chhattisgarh   Chhattisgarh: Four tribal students die at government hostels in Bastar   At least four tribal students have died in last ten days at residential schools and porta-cabins in Bastar division raising serious concern on negligence of their health and care at the government run hostels yet again.   Parents and students organizations in Sukma have demanded for departmental inquiry in the case and have also demanded for deployment of a nurse at hostel to attend emergencies.   The Gond tribal community has agitated saying that they would stage massive protest if the action isn’t taken in the case. ... Chhattisgarh   Raipur Municipal Corporation portal to keep track of affordable house allotments   An online portal has been launched by the civic body to keep track of home allotments to slum dwellers through the Basic Service for Urban Poor (BSUP) housing scheme.   This portal will keep track of vacant houses and its allotment process executed by zone commissioners by the central server located at Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC).   Civic authorities said that the portal will enable beneficiaries of the scheme as well as civic officials to remain constantly updated on the allotment procedure, bringing in transparency in the process.     Chhattisgarh   PMO asks ED to probe Chhattisgarh minister for disproportionate wealth   Prime Minister’s Office has directed Enforcement Directorate, department of financial services of the Ministry of Finance and Chhattisgarh government to take appropriate action into the complaints regarding alleged disproportionate assets of state’s panchayat and rural development minister Ajay Chandrakar.   Chhattisgarh   Chhattisgarh Government to merge DCCBs with state cooperative bank   The Chhattisgarh Government has planned to merge all District Cooperative Central Banks (DCCBs) of the state into a single State Cooperative Bank. The farmers will get modernised bank facilities at the village level along with ATM and Micro ATM services. Chhattisgarh   Chhattisgarh, Bengal blueprint to boost tourism in state.   The state tourismdepartment officials met 46 prospective stakeholders to develop tourist spots in the line of Chhattisgarhand West Bengal tourism. The plan will help in increasing the number of visitors at local tourist spots like waterfalls, dams, parks and tourist information centres.   The phase-wise development will be done on Tilaiya Dam, Hatia Dam, Maithon Dam and Kanke Dam in one category.   Chhattisgarh   Interstate crime meet to discuss Naxal threat   The interstate crime conference, discontinued towards the end of last decade, is set to resume as city police are taking initiative to organize a mega one-day brainstorming sessions on crime, terrorism and Naxalism on August 28. Officers of the ranks of superintendent of police and above from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, especially Vidarbha, are expected to attend the conference. Chhattisgarh   NHRC issues notice to Chhattisgarh govt over deaths of newborns due to ‘disruption in supply of oxygen’ at govt hospital.   The National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to Chhattisgarh government over death of four newborns at the government-run Ambedkar Hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh on Sunday night allegedly due to disruption in the supply of oxygen. The Commission has asked the state government to send a detailed report in four weeks.   The Commission is of the opinion that suitable effective measures are required to be taken to address such problems. Chhattisgarh   Chhattisgarh panel to govt: Purchase cow urine to stop people from abandoning cows.   Chhattisgarh’s official body for bovine welfare has a recommended buying cow urine from cattle owners to discourage the people from abandoning their livestock.   Many people abandon their cows after the animals stop giving milk or turn infirm due to old age, often leading to bovine deaths due to hunger and illness.   The cow commission has estimated Chhattisgarh’s cow population to be 92 lakh bovines.
