Establish more minor forest produce processing units: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has told officials to increase the income of self-help groups working in minor forest produce and to establish the maximum number of processing units.
Baghel was holding a review meeting on Saturday, an official communication stated.
The Chief Minister said the state has abundant valuable minor forest produce. It also has human resources and land to set up the processing units. Some districts have done good work, hesaid.
Citing an example, he said ‘Safed Amchur’ (mango powder) is being produced at Dantewada and is now sold at Rs 600 per kg. In districts where there is mango production, such a processing unit can be established.
The state has set up 139 ‘Forest Produce Centre’ as primary processing centres. A total of 17,424 women are employed at these centres. These units have generated Rs 1.91 crores as income.

Indian Certification of Medical Devices Plus Scheme
The Indian Certification of Medical Devices (ICMED) Plus Scheme was launched by the Quality Council of India (QCI).
About ICMED Plus Scheme:
The QCI and the Association of Indian Manufacturers of Medical Devices (AiMeD) have enhanced the ICMED Scheme, which was launched in 2016.
The new scheme is known as ICMED 13485 PLUS.
The scheme will verify the quality, safety, and efficacy of medical devices.
ICMED 13485 Plus has been designed to integrate the Quality Management System components and product-related quality validation processes via witness testing of products against defined product standards and specifications.
This is the world’s first scheme in which quality management systems and product certification standards are integrated with regulatory requirements.
This scheme will be an end-to-end quality assurance scheme for India’s medical device sector.

This results in improved service quality (lower latency) and lower bandwidth charges for ISPs by saving on international bandwidth.
Ease of Living Index by CSE
Bengaluru has been named as the most liveable metropolitan city of India, in the Ease of Living Index 2020, released by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).
The Ease of Living Index 2020 is a phase of the report titled State of India’s Environment 2021. Bengaluru is followed by means of Chennai, Shimla, Bhubaneshwar, and Mumbai, as the pinnacle five quality cities respectively.
The report targeted four parameters to decide the ease of dwelling index rating of each city, which are: great of life, financial ability, sustainability and citizens’ perceptions.
