Godhan scheme fulfils villagers’ dreams: CM
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said the Godhan Nyay Yojana is  helping to meet the dreams of villagers.
He was addressing a virtual event after transferring funds to the accounts of the beneficiaries of the scheme here, an official communication said.
He made online transfer of Rs 5.99 crore against the cow dung procured from December 1 to 15.
He said with procurement of cow dung from cattle owners, villagers, farmers and labourers, it had become a source of additional income for them. A total of Rs 380 crores has been paid to the beneficiaries since the scheme was launched.
The villagers say the income is being utilized for their children’s education, buying ornaments and two-wheelers and developing agricultural land, Baghel said.
Farmers have also donated 5 lakh quintals of hay in Gauthans. The paddy harvesting work is almost over in the state. The hay lying on the field of many farmers should also be brought to Gauthans, he underlined.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachand” to be Nepal’s Prime Minister third time
Pushpa Kamal Dahal has been elected as the Prime Minister of Nepal again on December 25,2022.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari named Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ of the CPN-Maoist Centre as Nepal’s next Prime Minister.
Prachanda has been chosen as Prime Minister of Nepal under Article 76 Clause 2 of the Constitution.
Dairy Development Policy
In order to complement and supplement the efforts of the States and UTs, the Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India is implementing following animal husbandry and dairy development schemes for strengthening infrastructure across the country for enhancing milk production and procurement in the potential districts and States:

  2. Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund (DIDF)
  • Supporting Dairy Cooperatives and Farmer Producer Organizations engaged in dairy activities (SDCFPO)

Coffee Export From India Rose Almost 2% to 4 Lakh tonne
Coffee shipments from IndiaAsia’s third-largest producer and exporter, rose 1.66 per cent to 4 lakh tonne in 2022 on rise in instant coffee exports and re-exports. Exports stood at 3.93 lakh tonne in 2021. In value terms, coffee export was higher at Rs 8,762.47 crore in 2022 as against Rs 6,984.67 crore in the previous year. India ships both Robusta and Arabica varieties, besides instant coffee.
According to the Board’s latest data, shipment of Robusta coffee declined marginally to 2,20,974 tonne in 2022 from 2,20,997 tonne in the previous year.
Similarly, export of Arabica fell 11.43 per cent to 44,542 tonne from 50,292 tonne. However, export of instant coffee increased 16.73 per cent to 35,810 tonne in 2022 from 29,819 tonne in the previous year. About 99,513 tonne of coffee was re-exported in 2022, higher than 92,235 tonne in the previous year.
India’s first underwater metro to become operation by December 2023
India’s first underwater metro service, The Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation (KMRC) said that the East-West Metro Corridor project, is expected to be completed by December 2023. With this, another feather is being added to the crown of Kolkata Metro, the first metro railway in the country. Kolkata Metro, which started its journey in 1984, is being expanded to cover the whole city and its outskirts. The underwater metro, which will be running through the Hoogly river will connect the twin cities of Howrah and Kolkata.
The completion of the project will bring great relief to lakhs of commuters as it will connect the busy Howrah and Sealdah railway stations as well as the north-south line of the Kolkata Metro at Esplanade. Another attraction for travellers will be the twin tunnels under the width of the river. Passengers will pass under the water for half a kilometre in less than a minute, giving them a one-of-a-kind experience.
