It has planned to set up 500 MW solar plants on land based system for meeting its Non-Traction and Traction requirements, mostly through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) using vacant Railway/private/Government lands . CHHATTISGARH Chhattisgarh Government bans Bursting of Firecrackers in Six of its Cities   The ChhattisgarhGovernment imposed a ban on the bursting of firecrackers in six of its cities, including the state capital Raipur, ahead of the wedding season from December 1st to January 31st. According to the statement issued by the State Environment Conservation Board, the decision has been taken to control the pollution, which increases during winters due to the direction of the wind. CHHATTISGARH Gis based sweeping of streets in bilaspur soon   The Bilaspur Municipal Corporation (BMC) will go for GIS based mechanical sweeping of streets under Smart City Mission, officials informed.   The BMC will be developing ‘Common Municipal Solid Waste Management Facility’ (CMSWMF) for treatment and disposal of municipal solid waste generated from domestic, commercial, industrial activities.     The solid waste being generated in the city is presently being openly disposed off in open dumping.
