CHHATTISGARH 08 kms of new roads declared as nhs in c’garh   The Central Government has declared 290.08 kms of roads in Chhattisgarh as new National Highways during 2017-18, officials informed.   The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is primarily responsible for development and maintenance of National Highways (NHs) and considers declaration of State Roads as new National Highways from time to time depending upon requirement of connectivity, inter-se priority and availability of funds.   The Ministry has declared about 30,268 km of new National Highways (NHs) including 53 km of NHs (717A & 316A)in West Bengal since May ... CHHATTISGARH Centre okays setting up of tribunal for settling mahanadi water dispute   The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister  Narendra Modi has approved the proposal for adjudication of dispute on Mahanadi River waters.   The Tribunal shall determine water sharing among basin States on the basis of the overall availability of water in the complete Mahanadi basin, contribution of each State, the present utilization of water resources in each State and the potential for future development.   It is expected that with adjudication of dispute by the Tribunal, the long-pending dispute between States of Odisha and Chhattisgarh on ... CHHATTISGARH More long span bridges to come up in Chhattisgarh   The State Government will get done a series of survey, investigation, study and preparation of  Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for construction of long span bridges  within the jurisdiction of Chhattisgarh Road Development Corporation (CGRDC), officials informed. The PWD has also built 18 Railway over and under bridges in high density traffic areas in the State involving a cost of Rs 300 crore during the past 13 years, officials informed. CHHATTISGARH TRACKING SYSTEM FOR INDRAVATI TIGER RESERVE SOON   The State Government will get installed Tracking and Monitoring applications in  Indravati Tiger Reserve soon.   The National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) has sanctioned ‘Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary’ spreading over 351.25 sq kms as ‘Tiger Reserve’ in Chhattisgarh. Five years ago, a proposal was sent to NTCA in this regard as there was tiger movement from Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh to Bhoramdeo Wildlife Sanctuary, officials informed. CHHATTISGARH C’garh Starts Preparations For Bharatmala Project   Chhattisgarh has commenced preparations for implementation of the Bharatmala project.   A meeting in this regard was held at the official residence of Chief Minister Raman Singh.   During the first phase of the project, five roads would be constructed at a cost of Rs 7000 crore measuring 436 kms, officials informed.   Singh said that ‘Bharatmala’ is an ambitious national project.
