CHHATTISGARH Centre may apply for adb loan for c’garh road connectivity   The Central Government is planning to apply for a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Chhattisgarh Road Connectivity Project , official sources informed.   The project will improve road connectivity in the state of Chhattisgarh by rehabilitating and upgrading state highways and major district roads (MDRs) with an aggregate length of about 900 km. The project will also include enhancements on road maintenance, road safety, and innovations. CHHATTISGARH Bhoramdev sanctuary not to be tiger reserve: min   The State Government has shelved its plan to declare Bhoramdev Sanctuary as a Tiger Reserve, Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda.   The Minister said that the decision was taken in the interest of forest dwellers.   Gagda also said that no forest dweller would be displaced from any forest village in the name of Tiger Reserve at the Bhoramdev Sanctuary.   The Government is committed to bringing the Baiga tribals in the development mainstream. CHHATTISGARH Kerala’s art comes to Raipur For the first time ever in Chhattisgarh, a state-level workshop on Kalaripayattu, a form of martial arts from Kerala, will be organised by Art Hulchal. CHHATTISGARH Green signal to 30 new govt colleges   Chief Minister Raman Singh approved opening of 30 new Government Colleges which will be started in upcoming academic session 2018-19.   Higher Education Department Minister Prem Prakash Pandey said that 105 new Government Colleges had been started during the past few years.   Fifty-eight colleges had been opened in remote and inaccessible regions of the State. CHHATTISGARH 54l quintal food grains allotted under pds: govt   Under State Government’s Public Distribution System (PDS), 20.54 lakh quintals of food grains have been allotted to all 27 districts of the state for February month, officials informed.   The allotment by Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department includes 18 lakh 28 thousand 644 quintals of rice, 40 thousand 590 quintals of wheat, 57 thousand 031 quintals of sugar, 47 thousand 601 quintals of chickpeas, and 80 thousand 833 quintals of iodine salt.
