. Recently, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) launched the e-Shram portal for creating a National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW). The portal came into being after the Supreme Court directed the Government to complete the registration process of unorganized workers. This much needed step, considering the enactment of Unorganised Workers’ Social Security Act, 2008 is however, about a decade late to come into existence. CHHATTISGARH Chhattisgarh to Distribute Free Smartphones to Over 50 Lakh People Chhattisgarh government will start distributing smartphones to over 50 lakh people for free from May under the Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY), months ahead of assembly polls in the state. Women heads of households will be the priority recipients of the smartphones. CHHATTISGARH Route survey for bharat net phase-ii soon The Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS), the nodal agency of Department of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of Chhattisgarh, will be getting route survey and Right of Way (RoW) clearance done for Bharat Net Phase-II project in the State, officials informed.
