CHHATTISGARH PM flags off historic train service in maoist heartland Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated historic railway line and passenger train service in insurgency infested Kanker district in North Bastar. The Prime Minister gifted the long-awaited link on the auspicious occasion of birth anniversary of architect of Constitution Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at village Jangla in Bijapur district via video-conferencing. CHHATTISGARH Govt plans compensatory afforestation in bilaspur The State Government will take up a massive compensatory afforestation exercise in Bilaspur district covering a total of 1000 hectares of land. The Government will soon carry out a survey of the areas where the exercise would be taken up, officials informed. Chhattisgarh received Rs 280 crore under Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) during financial year 2016-17, the Central Government has informed.
