CHHATTISGARH Chhattisgarh to Distribute Free Smartphones to Over 50 Lakh People   Chhattisgarh government will start distributing smartphones to over 50 lakh people for free from May under the Sanchar Kranti Yojana (SKY), months ahead of assembly polls in the state.   Women heads of households will be the priority recipients of the smartphones.   The Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) has started the preparation for the distribution of phones, as per the announcement made by the chief minister last year to reduce the digital divides. CHHATTISGARH One new anicut, stop-dam approved in state   State Government has given administrative sanction of Rs 2.96 crore for construction of Sonpuri Anicut on Moharengiya Nala of Bemetara district.   On completion of Anicut scheme will provide irrigation facility in 150 hectares area.   The  Government has also sanctioned Rs 2.90 crore for construction of Dadjara stop-dam on Dontunala of Berla block in Bemetara district.   On completion of scheme will provide irrigation facility on 65 hectares area.   The State Government had recently also approved Rs 52 crore for various irrigation projects  including other similar projects related to ...
