CHHATTISGARH Green signal to 30 new govt colleges  Chief Minister Raman Singh approved opening of 30 new Government Colleges which will be started in upcoming academic session 2018-19. Higher Education Department Minister Prem Prakash Pandey said that 105 new Government Colleges had been started during the past few years. Fifty-eight colleges had been opened in remote and inaccessible regions of the State. Universities had been established in all the five Revenue Divisions’ headquarters of the State. CHHATTISGARH State has parched reservoirs: min  Chhattisgarh is among nine States in the country with less water in the reservoirs during the current year compared to last year, the Union Ministry of Water Resources has informed. States having lesser storage than last year for corresponding period are Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana. CHHATTISGARH Govt plans compensatory afforestation in bilaspur  The State Government will take up a massive compensatory afforestation exercise in Bilaspur district covering a total of 1000 hectares of land. The Government will soon carry out a survey of the areas where the exercise would be taken up, officials informed. Chhattisgarh received Rs  280 crore under Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) during financial year 2016-17, the Central Government has informed.
