CHHATTISGARH C’garh among 5 states asked to nominate representative Mahanadi Water Disputes Tribunal has issued notice under Rule 4 of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Rules, 1959 to the State Governments of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra to nominate their representatives for adjudication of Mahanadi River Water Disputes latest by August 6, 2018. CHHATTISGARH Centre okays setting up of tribunal for settling mahanadi water dispute  The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved the proposal for adjudication of dispute on Mahanadi River waters. The Tribunal shall determine water sharing among basin States on the basis of the overall availability of water in the complete Mahanadi basin, contribution of each State, the present utilization of water resources in each State and the potential for future development. CHHATTISGARH C’garh starts work on inter-linking rivers: brijmohan  The Chhattisgarh Government has started work for inter-linking rivers to extend irrigation facilities across the State, State Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal told reporters. Mahanadi river would be linked with Tandula, Pairi with Mahanadi, Rehar with Stem, Ahiran with Kharang and Hasdeo with Kevai. Under Chirag project, there is a project proposal of Rs 1500 crore and funding from the World Bank is being sought. Around four lakh farmer families will be linked to the scheme .
