CHHATTISGARH Govt to hold ‘gram sabhas’ in 19 districts   The Chhattisgarh Government has decided to organize Gram Sabhas in 85 tribal dominated development blocks of 19 districts, which are included under fifth notification of PESA Act, on June 10 and 11.   Gram Sabhas will be organized in 5055 Gram Panchayats of these blocks, wherein information regarding the achievements and the schemes of Food, Civil Supply Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Forest Department and Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, along with the schemes conducted by Central Government and State Government will be provided.   In compliance to ... CHHATTISGARH Vayosri yojana’ to be launched in three dists   Union Social Justice and Empowerment Ministry had launched ‘Vayosri Yojana’ for supplying any aid to senior citizens as per their requirements.The project will be launched at Bilaspur, Raigarh and  Janjgir-Champa districts, the Central Government has informed.   About 520 senior citizens in Raipur, 480 senior citizens in Bastar and 322 senior citizens in Bijapur had been identified for the scheme.   Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched ‘Vayosri Yojana’ and gifted hearing aid to senior citizen at village Jangla district Bijapur on April 14.   As per the Census figures ... CHHATTISGARH Rs 448.30 cr special assistance under tss in last 4 years   The Central Government has released Rs 448.30 crore to Chhattisgarh under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Tribal Sub Scheme (TSS) during the last four years between 2014-15 to 2017-18, officials informed.   Notably, NITI Aayog has also given ‘in principle’ approval to various proposals related to roads, telecommunication, education, Ujjwala yojana and expansion of bank branches for overall development of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region in January this year.   The Chief Secretary informed that ‘in principle’ approval has been given for construction of additional 600 km of roads ... CHHATTISGARH   PM safe maternity campaign’ a boon for state’   Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign’ is proving to be a boon for Chhattisgarh, officials informed.   As a result of better implementation of this scheme by Health and Family Welfare Department, till date 3.77 lakh pregnant women have been examined and provided medical treatment.   It is noteworthy that under this scheme, pregnant women are provided free medicines, after check-up.   Health Department officials informed that under Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign, check-up of more than 12,000 pregnant women was done on March 9. CHHATTISGARH C’garh among six states with more female prisoners in jails   Chhattisgarh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Delhi had more female prisoners than the capacity of the respective jails as on December 31, 2016.   As per information compiled by National Crime Records Bureau, a total of 18498 female prisoners were lodged in different jails of the country against the available capacity of 26068 as on 31.12.2016. CHHATTISGARH Chhattisgarh ranks 13th in human trafficking, MP follows at 16th   The annual publication of National Crime Records Bureau’s ‘Crime in India-2016’ report released by Union home minister Rajnath Singh puts Chhattisgarh on 13th position in human trafficking cases reported while Madhya Pradesh ranks 16th in the nation.   Chhattisgarh contributing 0.84 % share with 68 cases reported in 2016 while the state ranks 12th when it comes to cases based on rate of cognizable crime.   Subsequently, there were 51 cases reported from MP in 2016 contributing 0.63 % share.   Madhya Pradesh had in all emerged as the third most unsecure state ...
