CHHATTISGARH Govt to carry out mass surveys of irrigation infra  A comprehensive and phased survey of more than 300 small irrigation projects for their full capacity utilisation will be carried out in Chhattisgarh, officials informed. The survey would be done for 1698 small irrigation projects, 766 anicuts, stop dams and 585 diversion projects. The survey of canals and barrages would also be carried out. An elaborate action plan would be prepared for carrying out the surveys. CHHATTISGARH C’garh preparing for launch of ‘gram swaraj mission’ The Chhattisgarh Government has commenced preparations for Central Government’s nation-wide launch of ‘Gram Swaraj Mission’ from April 14 to May 5. The State Women and Child Development Department will organize several programmes relating to the ‘National Nutrition Mission’ at gram sabhas of the panchayats. Gram Sabhas in the State are a part of Gram Swaraj Mission. The villagers will be informed regarding the malnourishment levels of each Anganwadi centres in the panchayats. CHHATTISGARH One new anicut, stop-dam approved in state  State Government has given administrative sanction of Rs 2.96 crore for construction of Sonpuri Anicut on Moharengiya Nala of Bemetara district. On completion of Anicut scheme will provide irrigation facility in 150 hectares area. The Government has also sanctioned Rs 2.90 crore for construction of Dadjara stop-dam on Dontunala of Berla block in Bemetara district. CHHATTISGARH Preserving Chhattisgarh’s tribal culture through dolls The women folk of Chhattisgarh craft doll and toys recently organised an event depicting handmade dolls made by the tribal s of Bastar region. The dolls were exhibited at Haat Bazar which was open for the public. The dolls are generally hollow and does not involve use of any tools.
