CHHATTISGARH Govt to hold ‘gram sabhas’ in 19 districts   The Chhattisgarh Government has decided to organize Gram Sabhas in 85 tribal dominated development blocks of 19 districts, which are included under fifth notification of PESA Act, on June 10 and 11.   Gram Sabhas will be organized in 5055 Gram Panchayats of these blocks, wherein information regarding the achievements and the schemes of Food, Civil Supply Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Forest Department and Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, along with the schemes conducted by Central Government and State Government will be provided.   In compliance to ...     C’garh accepts punchhi commission recommendations   Chhattisgarh on Friday agreed to the recommendations of the Punchhi Commission on Centre-State relations regarding environment, natural resources and infrastructure, officials informed.   The standing committee had sought state government’s stand on recommendations made on volume 6 and 7 of Punchhi Commission report.   Notably, the Standing Committee of the Inter-State Council (ISC) headed by the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh completed the onerous task of deliberations on all the 273 recommendations of the Punchhi Commission. CHHATTISGARH Nmdc produced 1.57 mt of iron ore from c’garh mines   NMDC Ltd produced 1.57 million tonnes (MT) of iron ore from its Chhattisgarh-based mines as on April 30, 2018, the company informed in a regulatory filing.   The company is targetting to achieve 10 million tonnes of iron ore production per annum from each of its mines in Chhattisgarh by 2024-25, official sources informed.   It has also sought 7.116 hectares forest land diversion for its iron ore concentrate pipeline in Dantewada district of Bastar, they informed.   Notably, NMDC will also be seeking Right of Use (ROU) ... The total catchment area of the Mahanadi basin is 141,600 square kilometers, of which 54% is in Chhattisgarh, 46% in Odisha. In the monsoon, the Mahanadi’s discharge is almost the same as that of the Ganges. In the dry season, however, the river becomes a narrow channel. CHHATTISGARH CM opens toll-free service 104 for disabled   Chief Minister Raman Singh launched a toll-free number 104 for the differently-abled, senior citizens, destitutes and transgenders at his official residence here.   The facility was introduced by the Social Welfare Department. Singh called up on the toll-free number and congratulated the Call Attendant.   Senior citizens, widows, destitutes and transgenders can avail  the facility by just dialing toll-free number-104.
