CHHATTISGARH Gram sabhas in 10,971 panchayats from Apr 14   Gram Sabhas will be organised in about 10,971 gram panchayats from April 14, the birth anniversary of  the architect of Indian Constitution Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar, according to Directorate of Panchayat.   Chief Minister Raman Singh appealed to the citizens of the State to participate in large numbers in the gram sabhas.   He added that it is a part of democracy to participate in the activities of gram panchayats where the concerned representatives give an account of the developmental activities. CHHATTISGARH Bharat net’ project to transform rural lives: CM   The Chief Minister said that the Chhattisgarh Government and Central Government have inked a MoU of Bharat Net Project in the state capital today which will transform radically the lives of villagers in the near future. Chhattisgarh   Raipur Municipal Corporation portal to keep track of affordable house allotments   An online portal has been launched by the civic body to keep track of home allotments to slum dwellers through the Basic Service for Urban Poor (BSUP) housing scheme.   This portal will keep track of vacant houses and its allotment process executed by zone commissioners by the central server located at Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC).   Civic authorities said that the portal will enable beneficiaries of the scheme as well as civic officials to remain constantly updated on the allotment procedure, bringing in transparency in the process. Chhattisgarh   1271 farmers committed suicide in 30 months in Chhattisgarh: Minister   A total of 1,271 farmers killed themselves during the last two-and-half years in Chhattisgarh, the Assembly was told.   Maximum suicides by farmers were reported in five districts including Surajpur (198), Balodabazar (181), Balod (170), Mahasamund (153) and Balrampur (138).   Of the total suicides, in 11 cases economic crises was the trigger, while in 17 cases it was a debt burden, as per the reply.   The minister said the economic assistance of Rs 11,23,328 was provided in these 17 cases.
