CHHATTISGARH Rs 352 cr approved for lwe regions road development: centre   The Chhattisgarh Government had been sanctioned Rs 352 crores for development of roads in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) infested districts under Road Requirement Plan-I (RRP-I)  during the current financial year, the Central Government has informed.   The Government has approved a scheme of construction of roads under Left Wing Extremism (LWE) under Road Requirement Plan-I (RRP-I) in 2009 for development of 5477 km roads at a cost of Rs. 7300 crore covering eight States viz. CHHATTISGARH Chhattisgarh to launch ‘cm pension scheme’   Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh announced on Sunday in his monthly radio talk programme ‘Raman Ke Goth’ that his government has decided to launch Chief Minister Pension Scheme this year.   The scheme is intended to cover roughly three lakh people who have been found to be extremely deprived in socio-economic survey of year 2011. CHHATTISGARH   PM safe maternity campaign’ a boon for state’   Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign’ is proving to be a boon for Chhattisgarh, officials informed.   As a result of better implementation of this scheme by Health and Family Welfare Department, till date 3.77 lakh pregnant women have been examined and provided medical treatment.   It is noteworthy that under this scheme, pregnant women are provided free medicines, after check-up.   Health Department officials informed that under Prime Minister Safe Maternity Campaign, check-up of more than 12,000 pregnant women was done on March 9. CHHATTISGARH   World-class ‘education city’ planned for Raipur   Chief Minister Raman Singh will be inaugurating works being started for a proposed ‘Education City’ to be built at Saddu locality in Raipur on March 4 at a cost of  Rs 20 crores, officials informed.   The Education City is to be developed by State Tribal and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department, officials informed.   The ‘Education City’ would also comprise a 500 seat residential hostel and would be built in a sprawling 18 acre campus.   The campus would also comprise a computer lab and smart classes. CHHATTISGARH C’garh among six states with more female prisoners in jails   Chhattisgarh, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal and Delhi had more female prisoners than the capacity of the respective jails as on December 31, 2016.   As per information compiled by National Crime Records Bureau, a total of 18498 female prisoners were lodged in different jails of the country against the available capacity of 26068 as on 31.12.2016.
