CHHATTISGARH Chhattisgarh east west rail corridor may complete by 2020   The Chhattisgarh East-West Rail Corridor project is expected to be complete by 2020, officials informed.   The proposed track from  Gevra Road to Pendra via Dipka, Katghora, Sindurgarh and Pasan has a length of 135 km, Urga- Kusmunda has a length of about 16 km and Feeder Lines of about 35 km. CHHATTISGARH Nabard helps state with rs 4,486 cr during 2017-18   The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has assisted Chhattisgarh with Rs  4,486 crore during the financial year 2017-18.   This was 76% higher than that of the assistance given during last two years.   Under ‘Saur Sujala Scheme’, targetted beneficiaries were mainly small farmers in un-electrified areas of remote habitations. CHHATTISGARH Bhoramdev sanctuary not to be tiger reserve: min   The State Government has shelved its plan to declare Bhoramdev Sanctuary as a Tiger Reserve, Forest Minister Mahesh Gagda.   The Minister said that the decision was taken in the interest of forest dwellers.   Gagda also said that no forest dweller would be displaced from any forest village in the name of Tiger Reserve at the Bhoramdev Sanctuary.   The Government is committed to bringing the Baiga tribals in the development mainstream. CHHATTISGARH 15 c’garh districts under brgf programme   Fifteen districts of Chhattisgarh have been covered  under Ministry of Panchayati Raj’s District component of Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) Programme, the Central Government has informed.   The districts are namely– Bastar, Bijapur, Bilaspur, Dantewada, Dhamtari, Jashpur, Kabirdham, Kanker, Korba, Korea, Mahasammund, Narayanpur, Raigarh, Rajnandgaon and Sarguja covered under the BRGF Programme.   The backward districts under the BRGF Programme were selected on the basis of rank of backwardness on chosen parameters relating to income deprivation, health and education status, social backwardness and infrastructural inadequacy.   After the acceptance of the recommendations ... CHHATTISGARH Rs 448.30 cr special assistance under tss in last 4 years   The Central Government has released Rs 448.30 crore to Chhattisgarh under Special Central Assistance (SCA) to Tribal Sub Scheme (TSS) during the last four years between 2014-15 to 2017-18, officials informed.   Notably, NITI Aayog has also given ‘in principle’ approval to various proposals related to roads, telecommunication, education, Ujjwala yojana and expansion of bank branches for overall development of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region in January this year.   The Chief Secretary informed that ‘in principle’ approval has been given for construction of additional 600 km of roads ... CHHATTISGARH 54l quintal food grains allotted under pds: govt   Under State Government’s Public Distribution System (PDS), 20.54 lakh quintals of food grains have been allotted to all 27 districts of the state for February month, officials informed.   The allotment by Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department includes 18 lakh 28 thousand 644 quintals of rice, 40 thousand 590 quintals of wheat, 57 thousand 031 quintals of sugar, 47 thousand 601 quintals of chickpeas, and 80 thousand 833 quintals of iodine salt.
