Incidents of Maoist violence have declined by 40% in the Naxal-affected areas of Chattisgarh, including Bastar, and there has been a significant dip in damages to security forces and reduction in loss of lives in the last one year, claims Chhattisgarh police.

According to police, it is because of the three-pronged strategy adopted by the government that this feat has been achieved.

Government’s ‘Vishwas-Vikas-Suraksha’ scheme was highly effective along with the contribution of state police, CRPF, STF, and other forces that led to a decline of 40% in Maoist incidents, 55% decrease in loss of security personnel and 45 per cent drop in civilian deaths in Maoist violence.

Bastar has witnessed 30 per cent dip in overall crime and that police will majorly focus on women and child protection in 2020 and would also work towards bringing down the graph of fatal accidents on road.
