Chhattisgarh bags award for innovation in e-governance

Chhattisgarhhas bagged the golden award for e-Shramik Seva from the Union Administrative Reforms and public grievances department for innovation in the field of e-Governance.
The golden award has been given to the state labour department under the Universalizing Accessincluding e-Services category of National Award for E-Governance 2020-21. An amount of Rs two lakh has been given as award .

About 36 lakh workers have been registered under e-Shramik Seva by the labour department of Chhattisgarh. The state now ranks 6th in the country in terms of registration of unorganised workers and 3rd on the basis of he target. The workers registered on the e-Shram portal are being benefited by various schemes run by the Central and state governments for the workers.

For the year 2020-2021 award has been given under different categories like Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering for Digital Transformation, Universalizing Access including e-Services, Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance, Outstanding Research on Citizen-Centric Services by Academic/ Research Institution, Excellence in Adopting Emerging Technology and Use of ICT in the Management of Covid-19.

Action Plan: Introduction of Cheetah In India

The Union Government announced an action plan for adopting Cheetah in India on 5 January.

Highlights:

During the 19th meeting of the , the Environment ministry issued the “Action Plan for Adoption of Cheetah in India.”

In India, 50 cheetahs would be introduced over the next five years as part of the action plan.

Cheetahs will be transported from South Africa or Namibia in groups of 12 to 14.

A satellite-GPS-very high-frequency radio collar will be put to each of the cheetahs.Cheetahs will be transported internationally by either a passenger airplane or a chartered flight.

They will be relocated to Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno Palpur National Park (KNP).

According to the strategy, the Union government, the Ministry of Environment, and the Cheetah Task Force will establish a formal structure for engaging with Namibian and/or South African administrations.

India Skills Competition 2021

The National Skill development Corporation organizes the India Skills competition (NSDC).

It occurs every two years. The competition takes place in several locales.

The India Skills competition will take place at Pragati Maidan, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and other cities in 2021. It all started in the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi.

The NSDC is hosting more than fifty skill contests in 2021. Welding, cyber security, painting, floristry, additive manufacturing, patisserie, and more professions are included.

The “Olympics of Skills” is the name of the World Skills competition.

Indias first Mobile Honey Processing Van

India’s first “Mobile Honey Processing Van” was launched by KVIC.

KVIC’s Multi-disciplinary Training Centre in Panjokehra designed the Mobile Van in-house at a cost of Rs 15 lakh.

The Mobile Honey Processing Van is a significant step forward in KVIC’s Honey Mission, which aims to train beekeepers, provide Bee Boxes to farmers, and assist rural, educated, and jobless youth in earning additional revenue through beekeeping.

KVIC has created the unique Mobile Honey Processing Van, which will process beekeepers’ honey in their homes, saving them the time and expense of transporting the honey to processing Plants in distant towns.

National Water Awards 2020 Announced

Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Union Minister of Jal Shakti, has announced the winners of the third National Water Awards for the year 2020.

In the National Water Awards 2020, Uttar Pradesh has named the Best State for Water Conservation.

Rajasthan and Nadu come in second and third, respectively. The award includes a citation, a trophy, and a monetary prize.

The finest district prize in the northern zone went to Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, followed by Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar in Punjab.

The Jal Shakti Ministry established the National Water Award in 2018 to honor and motivate individuals and organizations who excel in the field of Water Resource Management.

Newly Identified Tree Species: Uvariopsis Dicaprio

A new tree species, Uvariopsis dicaprio, has been discovered. In the year 2022, this is the first new tree species to be described. It was found in Cameroon’s tropical Ebo forest and is a native of the area.

The tree has been added to the list of plant species that are Strange and Spectacular. The tree is considered to be critically endangered.

The tree’s yellow-green blossoms grow directly on its trunk. Flowers are typically created from modified shoots or modified leaves.

Sea Dragon 2022 Exercise

In the Western Pacific, India and its Quadrilateral Security Dialogue partners, Canada and South Korea are taking part in the multinational drill Sea Dragon 2022 at Guam.

The United States, Australia, Canada, India, Japan, and South Korea are among the six nations taking part in the drill.

The exercise will include more than 270 hours of in-flight training and operations ranging from tracking simulated targets to tracking a US Navy submarine.
