CHHATTISGARH Centre okays setting up of tribunal for settling mahanadi water dispute   The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister  Narendra Modi has approved the proposal for adjudication of dispute on Mahanadi River waters.   The Tribunal shall determine water sharing among basin States on the basis of the overall availability of water in the complete Mahanadi basin, contribution of each State, the present utilization of water resources in each State and the potential for future development.   It is expected that with adjudication of dispute by the Tribunal, the long-pending dispute between States of Odisha and Chhattisgarh on ... CHHATTISGARH State has parched reservoirs: min   Chhattisgarh is among nine States in the country with less water in the reservoirs during the current year compared to last year, the Union Ministry of Water Resources has informed.   States having lesser storage than last year for corresponding period are Punjab, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.   The Central region includes States of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
